Not THAT Dublin? The other Dublin that deserves your next trip

Hi from Anthony and Jodie! We are the Learners and Makers. Traveling the world full time since 2022, we empower families and people with mobility disabilities to travel confidently, their way.

Greetings from Warsaw, Poland! We are on the last legs of our Baltic Summer tour of Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland—but our thoughts this week are turning somewhere else.

A couple of summers ago, we were seeking a place to break up a bigger road trip. With many plans afoot for Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan, as we made our way back to Virginia, we needed to find a place to stay a few days.

It turned out to be in Dublin.

Only, not THAT Dublin.

Just outside of Columbus (and most convenient to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, btw), Dublin, Ohio has stayed with us ever since our stay there.

The small city is home to dozens of public art installations. A traditional downtown preserves the city’s history and heritage, while some of the best urban planning in the USA has made it possible for Dublin to balance growth with quality of life.

It’s a place I regularly suggest people visit for a family friendly destination that can honor its history while continuing to be a good place to live and visit now and in the future.

Dublin, Ohio

Public art, historic downtown, a beautiful pedestrian bridge, and more come together in this family friendly, accessible city

Using phone data abroad:
Why we don't worry about it

Whether you love or hate your mobile network, you don’t have to use their (probably overpriced) international data plan the next time you go abroad.

Wherever we’re abroad, we keep our USA carrier for voice and text, but we don’t use their international data plan.

For example, our 2026 travels have included Japan, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland. In each country, whether using Google Maps while navigating, or ordering a rideshare, Airalo eSIMs keep us connected with excellent data at an excellent price.

From Europe to Asia to beyond, wherever your summer adventures take you abroad, you can find an Airalo eSIM for your data, instead of your carrier’s plan.

You can even get your Airalo eSIM in advance, and activate it when you’re ready!

PLUS, Airalo's given us 2 special coupon codes that can save you more on your eSIM:

New to Airalo? Use code NEWTOAIRALO15 for 15% off.

Used Airalo before? Use code AIRALOESIM10 for 10% off.

Here’s how our family keeps our phones online all over the world

Hi from Anthony and Jodie! We are the Learners and Makers. Traveling the world full time since 2022, we empower families and people with mobility disabilities to travel confidently, their way. Hello from Poland! Our family is in Gdansk, on the Baltic Coast, the finale for our 2026 Baltic Summer. We’re still savoring the gnocchi-style potato dumplings, mushroom sauce, and seared wild boar from the walking food tour we took throughout the pedestrian Old Town last night. Spending more time in...

New friends, fresh mango smoothies, incredible coffee, and more await

Hi from Anthony and Jodie! We are the Learners and Makers. Traveling the world full time since 2022, we empower families and people with mobility disabilities to travel confidently, their way. When you travel full time, you also plan travel full time. That’s a reality we’ve gotten used to over the almost-four-years that we’ve been traveling as a family. Day trips, a sightseeing afternoon, a weekend away, where we might find a vacation rental for a month’s stay in a new-to-us country: that’s...

One of our family’s favorite waterfall hikes is just east of Florence

Hi from Anthony and Jodie! We are the Learners and Makers. Traveling the world full time since 2022, we empower families and people with mobility disabilities to travel confidently, their way. We’ve appreciated waterfalls all over the world. So it is with no undue consideration, that from our thoroughly biased opinions, we assert that the USA’s Pacific Northwest has some of the best, most easily accessed waterfalls in the entire freaking world. In Oregon alone, there’s Multnomah Falls east of...
